What Is En-ROADS & How Can It Help My CCL Work?
En-ROADS is a transparent, free policy-simulation model that gives everyone the chance to design their own scenarios to limit future global warming. See below for links to very cool demonstrations.
You can try your own experiments and assumptions, and get immediate feedback on the likely impacts. The simulation, developed by Climate Interactive, Ventana Systems, and MIT Sloan, runs on an ordinary laptop in a fraction of a second, is available online, offers an intuitive interface, has been carefully grounded in the best available science, and has been calibrated against a wide range of existing integrated assessment, climate and energy models. As you can imagine, with MIT as a co-developer, the science and technology behind this tool is super powerful. I’ve seen hour-long demonstrations, and it’s impressively detailed and likely very accurate.
Dr. Elizabeth Del Buono, a CCL leader in Michigan, has put together two 15 minute presentations, one for conservative audiences and one for progressives. This may be of help as you guide people “up the ladder of support” for carbon fee and dividend.

If you are going to use the tool live, I can pair you with a CCLer who is trained on running the tool.
