New RFF analysis shows carbon tax is necessary complement to CEPP / tax credits
“New analysis from a team at Resources for the Future (RFF) finds that a carbon price alongside a clean electricity performance program and clean energy tax credits could help the United States halve emissions–but without a carbon price or other substantial climate policies, reductions fall short.” See RFF paper entitled “Emissions Projections under Alternative Climate Policy Proposals” — and particularly the RFF graph copied and pasted in below.
Note the limited effect of CEPP and CEAA (2nd line from top), versus an economy-wide carbon fee (solid green line).
