Media Teams Rule: Latest Op-Eds and LTEs

August was an incredibly prolific month for the Media team from Nevada CCL.  Here are the results:

  • On August 30th, Susan Potts had an Op-Ed in The Nevada Appeal, “New Report Shows Urgency of Climate Action.
  • On August 25th, Janet Nelson criticized a George Will editorial in the Reno Gazette Journal in a hard-hitting Letter To The Editor
  • On August 22nd, Rita Ransom got the Las Vegas Sun to carry the same basic Op-Ed piece (which was co-authored with Mark Reynolds).
  • On August 21st, THREE CCLers — Chas Macquarie, Midge Breeden and Jon Nowlin — wrote strongly-worded LTEs to the Nevada Appeal, effectively rebutting an earlier article by Guy Farmer.
  • On August 19th, Michelle Hamilton’s piece, “A world burning up and under water must finally act on climate change” was carried by the Sierra Nevada Ally.
  • And Las Vegas reports 2 LTEs and 2 Op-Eds that have not been published yet!
Editor’s Note: Remember that even unpublished LTEs have influence on the editorial staff of your newspaper:  They want to publish things that interest readers.  Hearing well-written ideas and opinions from you builds their understanding about how eager people are to hear about climate change and solutions.
