HR 2307 picks up 3 more co-sponsors; now 84!
The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act got three more co-sponsors recently:
James M. Langevin (D-RI-02)
Brenda L. Lawrence (D-MI-14)
Pramila Jayapal (D-WA-07)
Pramila Jayapal’s rather sudden decision to sign on as a co-sponsor to the EICDA is HUGE. She is the very powerful leader of the House Progressive Caucus, so this sends a giant green light signal to progressives that carbon pricing is OK – and may be an indication that they’re worried that there’s not going to be a viable pathway for CEPP, so they may need to shift focus to carbon fee and dividend instead (or perhaps in addition), since that would go thru the Senate Finance Committee.
