The Five Levers of Building Political Will

Our Mission is to a) create political will for climate change solutions by b) empowering our personal and political voices.

Our current focus is to pass  a federal carbon-fee-and-dividend law similar to The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act

And we organize our work in 5 major categories called The Five Levers of Political Will:

  1. Lobbying Congress:  We train citizens how to lobby in support of our Carbon Fee and Dividend proposal by building friendly relationships with our federally elected representatives.  Go to our Nevada Lobbying Resources page for our statewide efforts.lobbying is one of the levers of political will
  2. Media relations:  We train citizens how to engage with and influence the media. We write letters to the editors and op-eds, meet with editorial boards and work to place stories in all forms of media.  Go to our Nevada Media Resources page for our statewide efforts.
  3. Grassroots outreach:  We recruit and educate the public on climate solutions, citizen advocacy and how to participate with one’s government.  Go to our Nevada Grassroots Resources page for our statewide efforts.
  4. Grasstops engagement:  We seek to educate, build partnerships with and gain the support of community leaders and non-governmental organizations, both nationally and locally.  Go to our Nevada Grasstops Resources page for our statewide efforts.
  5. Group development & organizing:  It is through the growth and management of the local CCL group/chapter, that it becomes possible to push on the other four levers for building political will.  Go to our Nevada Group Development Resources page for our statewide efforts

Here is how the Five Levers interoperate:

Our work, here in Nevada, is organized along these five levers, and  you can find out more about each of them on the following pages:
