Cavalry Arrives From The Third Coast
CCLers in Nevada got some important help recently from active CCL volunteers from the “Third Coast” (TX, LA, MS).
- March Lobby Days,
- Media Push (monthly, all year!)
- June Conference,
- Grasstops Push (monthly, all year!)
- June Lobby Days,
- the general Senate Push,
- the House Push (that ends today), and now
- this special effort to get Senator Cortez Masto to include carbon pricing in the reconciliation language being drafted by her Senate Finance Committee. Whew!
Our Grasstops “Delegates” are working hard to get their “Endorsers” to use their influence to show Senator Cortez Masto that community leaders favor carbon pricing. And our most active members have been doing everything they can. But there are many semi-active members of Citizens’ Climate Lobby – Nevada who might call or email Senator Cortez Masto if someone just asked them to, personally.
Well, Susan Adams, the Regional Coordinator of the “Third Coast” — CCL’s name for the region composed of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi — asked some CCL volunteers in her region if they’d be willing to staff a phone bank and call a list of active and semi-active Nevada CCLers.
They used a nifty google spreadsheet to organize the calling list, and even included some sample “talking points” for the phone calls that got through, suggested voicemail scripts, and some sample text for follow up emails! Check it out!
