Permitting Reform Group for CCL-Nevada Takes Flight

Here is the latest report from Capitol Hill on the fast moving legislative moves to move bipartisan Permitting Reform to the finish line:

The statewide group of CCLers who are working together on permitting reform have been active, too:  One member pulled together a 4-page Nevada Fact Sheet.  It includes encouraging news about how the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy is working to streamline the state permitting process.

Another volunteer shared information about “Greenlink” — the initiative to connect northern and southern Nevada with major new transmission capability.  In this video, Carolyn Barbash, NV Energy Vice President of Transmission Development & Policy, explains the Greenlink Nevada Transmission Initiative, including the project timeline and benefits.   Click here to read the Greenlink Nevada press release.

The Permitting Reform group is also monitoring the Permitting Dashboard for Federal Infrastructure Projects. There’s only one electricity transmission project listed in Nevada, Transwest Express. Permitting was completed in 2017.  They’d like to know if anyone knows the current status of this transmission line?   Also, why isn’t Greenlink or Southwest Intertie listed? Have they not yet gotten to the permitting stage? Are they still trying to get right of way access? Does anyone know?

If anyone is interested in joining his group, use contact us to volunteer.
