Why Have This Blog?

Why have a website for just one chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL)?  After all, CCL itself maintains two well-managed, dynamic websites, the public-facing one (CitizensClimateLobby.org) and the “Community” one (community.CitizensClimateLobby.org).   Do we need another site?

When I was orienting new members to the work of the Grasstops team,  I found that I was bouncing all around the two CCL websites … often searching for key items.  The organization of the sites, particularly Community, has gotten better over time, but stuff still gets buried or moved.

Moreover, I needed a place to post links to “latest news” or to documents that members of the Grasstops team might need to aid their work.   And I thought that perhaps the other team leaders might want to share stuff with their teams, too.  So rather than create a little website for just the Grasstops team, I developed one that other teams could use, too.

This Is A Supplement; Not A Substitute

This blog is not meant to replace either the Community site — which has GREAT resources and training — or the main CCL Site.  It is simply a place to post news of local interest and to help new members get started on Community.  Further, as we develop materials or other local resources, this is a place where we can share that information with each other.

Organization Of The Site; How To Find Stuff

The main part of the site will simply house “posts” in reverse chronological order.  Any member of CCL-Las Vegas is welcome to become an “author” on this blog.  (See “How To Become An Author on This Blog.”)   Each post will be “categorized” and/or “tagged.”   By “filtering” posts by category or tag, you can see posts related to just those subjects.
